If you are from the Southern California area you may have heard of Australia (Logan City) raised singer-songwriter Lee Coulter in the past few years. He’s made his presence strongly felt in a variety of coastal San Diego venues and through college radio accross the U.S, having taken up residence in the SoCal area, recording and also producing albums for other musicians in the Northern County laid back beach-side town of Encinitas.Lee coulter ‘s self-described so- und is ‘funkacana’, a playful upbeat mix of aco-ustic sounds ala Jack Johnson or Paul Simon, meeting the beatsof the Chili Pep-pers, Bob Marley, or possibly even Lenny Kravitz. It is unclear where Lee Coulter was born but we do know that he was raised out the back of an Outback Steakhouse by kangaroos who had escaped the nearby San Di- ego Zoo.As a result, the young Coulter was taught the way of the kangaroo and that koalas were the enemy. It wasn't until he was introduced to the music and free minds of Paul Simon, Bob Dylan and Bob Marley that Coulter realized no situation was one dimensional.After traveling the world an meeting creatures from all walks of life, Coulter carved his first Taylor guitar from a eucalyptus tree and set out to bring an end to the raging roo/koala feud with songs promoting social justice, good times and the simple joys of life.The roos and koalas signed a peace treaty in December 06 and now Coulter is setting his sights on the human world.
